Hi I’m Ed, welcome to Prestige Auto Body. Prestige Auto Body is based in Winnipeg Manitoba, it has been a family owned and operated business for 18 years, in a row, same location, same owner - same wife.

Here at Prestige Auto Body, we take great pride in our work and go beyond doing a good job by providing flawless workmanship on every vehicle serviced, we work on your vehicle as though it were our own and make repairs invisible.
I got my first job at a bicycle repair shop when I was 15. I still find it amusing when I think back to when my employer asked me for my social insurance number and I could not provide him with one for until turned 16.
Every week day after class, I would take the bus to Nelson's bicycle shop. It would cost me 20 cents round trip and since my hourly wage was 50 cents per hour and I worked one hour per day, that left me with a 30 cents daily profit.
When classes ended for the summer, I worked 40 hours a week for a $20 pay check, minus bus fare of course. It was great. I got to repair: push lawn mowers, bicycles, etc. At the end of the day I was so greased up from work that no one liked to sit by me on the bus ride home. I didn’t mind though, I got a chance to do something most people couldn't do - that really thrilled me.
The following summer I got a job at a grocery store. Once school started, I continued work there after class. During that time I participated in a work experience program in which I got to work for an auto body repair shop. I was so impressed with the work that went on in there that I asked my instructor if I could to go back for a second term.
Once School ended, I worked full time at a grocery store for a little while. However I soon realized that it was not for me. Then opportunity came, I was asked if I would like to work for the body shop where I had been doing my work experience. I jumped at the job offer, even though it meant a significant reduction in pay.
While I was working full time at the auto body repair shop, I was amazed at how the auto body technician and painter would repair vehicles. I still remember to this day, when this black car came into the shop; it was cut open from head to tail light. The repair technician (John) repaired the vehicle. The painter was on vacation at that time so John ended up painting the same vehicle he repaired. He did an excellent job - the repairs were invisible. That’s when I knew that I wanted to be like John, I felt that working in the industry wasn’t just a job, it was something that I loved to do and would be happy doing even if I were doing it for free. It has been a pleasure ever since.
